Does All Of The UK Have The Same Public Holidays?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

No, the Public holidays are not same all over the United Kingdom, and it varies among the countries in the UK. Therefore, it is always advisable to check when there is a holiday in a particular country.

Christmas is the only holiday that falls on one particular day and almost all the countries in the UK, i.e. England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have their holiday on December 25th. But it is not the case every year and in the year 2004 and 2005 the holiday for Christmas in Scotland was on 27th December and on 26th December respectively.

Even the holiday for the New Year falls on different dates in different countries and sometimes it falls between the second and the third of January, as in the year 2007 it is expected to have a holiday for the New Year in Scotland on 1-2nd of January.
