What Are The Special Aspects Of Rising Of A Mastiff Puppy?

Ooh... I dog may in heaven! I love mastiffs, my parents raised them for years and I soon hope to purchase my first!
rule #1: Mastiffs are very family oriented. don't let them feel neglected by keeping them involved in family activities... in other words, shower them with affection and play with them.
#2: socialize the heck out of your puppy. Get him/her used to being pet by different people, and being around other dogs. An under socialized mastiff can be a scary prospect.
#3: Start leash training early!! This is very important. That little guy is gonna grow up quick! have him understand how to heel, sit and stay now so you are not being drug about later!
#4: Expect messes! These lumbering love horses, have what we lovingly call goobers and slingers... they will slobber over everything. and think nothing is more fun than giving big kisses after a fresh drink of water.
#5 around age 2 watch the dogs, movement and possibly have him/her x-rayed for a common disease called hip-displasea. It is treatable, but genetic.
