What Should I Do When A Bird Is Stranded?

During a storm a tiny bird fell out of it's nest and is stranded on our driveway. The parents are around but don't seem to do anything. I covered it up with a wash cloth without touching it with my hands. Should I do anything more?

A bird can be stranded by different things or traps. One and most commonly used trap for birds is net. Second is a trap cage and third a bird can be stranded in wires or cables where wires or cables are in open air where birds can come. If the bird is stranded in a net, you can simply go near to bird and pull up the net, the will be under the net and when you will pull up the net, bird will fly away. If you want to catch the bird from net, you can simply pull the net from a side and make sure to put a cage next to the side from where you pulled the net, bird will fly and come into the cage, and then you can close the door of cage. Secondly if the bird is in trap cage, normally there is a hook or some kind of rod which opens those trap cages, you can pull the hook or rod and bird will fly away when the door will open by pulling the hook or rod. Thirdly if the bird is stranded in wires, you should take a wooden stick and with help of stick, move the cables or wires to free the bird, when the gap will be created in cables or wire, the bird will fly away.
