How Do I Replace The Drywall For My Kitchen Backsplash?

I am replacing the tile on my kitchen backsplash. While removing tile most of the paper came off the drywall. How do I replace the drywall, and do I need to use cement board etc.? Also, could I just repair the damage and still get a smooth enough surface to tile using glass mosaic tile?

I would go to your local Lowe's or Home Depot, and ask someone from the tile department what their recommendations are.  They may have a quick and less expensive solution to your problem.  I always find the salesmen and women in both stores very helpful and always willing to offer a wealth of information and ideas.  Good-Luck.

You need to cut out the old drywall and patch it with new drywall. Then you need to put a back splash of tile or some other product up. Peace
