Can Hamsters Smell Stuff Like Bleach?

Hamsters actually have quite poor eyesight but a very good sense of smell, possibly to counteract their poor eyesight. Between hamsters, they can determine who is who by their distinct scents.

It is then highly likely that they would be able to smell bleach, but as to whether it is harmful is or not is another issue. Products like household cleaners are probably best kept away from a hamster, or at least, moving the hamster before using the products and then putting it back half an hour later is probably best.
