Hatching chickens is quite easy. There are two basic ways of hatching chickens. First way is to get hold of a hen. The hen will take on the hatching duties. There are a few things you will have to take care of. You will need to prepare a nest for the hen in a dark area of the shelter. It also requires a lot of bedding, so make sure you have done the necessary. Then place around seven to eight eggs in the nest. Place the hen on top of the eggs and check whether she is adjusting herself. Keep water and feed close to the nest. The chickens should hatch within 20 to 21 days. The other way of hatching chickens is to place the eggs in an incubator. It is important to store eggs at 50 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit before placing it in the incubator. Follow the guidelines of the incubator. Keep turning the eggs at least two to three times in a day for the first 18 days. The eggs will hatch after 21 days. After the eggs have been hatched, clean the incubator.
Good advice above, make sure you collect the eggs each day in the morning, and even if you use an incubator, try to set them in batches so the chicks are all the same age, but don't hold an egg for more than a few days(turn them while you are holding them too). If you use a hen, try leaving some eggs in one nest, and see which hen is in the mood to sit, and use her for you momma.
