Liver can still function efficiently even at 70 % to 80 % capacity. Even if the disease is advanced but isolated then still there is hope of improvement as liver is capable of regeneration as a matter of fact liver is the only part of body that has the ability to regenerate. An effective way to treat dog liver disease is to give balanced vitamins, minerals and other nutrients so that they can aid in the restoration of liver function. One more consideration to take care of chronic liver disease is the use of supplements to restore liver function and ward off diseases. Herbal extracts have been shown to help in mammoth proportions in this regard. PetAlive Liver Aid is a treatment that I would recommend. It contains herbs and homeopathic ingredients which stimulate liver.

The prognosis of chronic liver disease in dogs really depends on what kind of liver disease the dog has been afflicted with and at what stage the disease has been diagnosed. Treatment on the other hand would involve a combination of things including chemotherapy, removal of toxic agents and dealing with bleeding, malabsorption and neurological complications
