Which Country Has The Largest Number Of Cinemas?

China has the largest number of cinema screens in the world, around thirty eight thousand five hundred. Even though China does have the largest number of Cinema screens it ranks eleventh in relation to the number of people visiting these cinemas. It is believed that this could be a result of the well established piracy network that exists there.

The United States and India rank second and third with approximately thirty six and a half thousand and ten thousand five hundred cinema screens respectively. The United Kingdom ranks eighth with nearly three thousand five hundred cinema screens. India has the largest number of people visiting cinemas and hence they are the most crowded as well, perhaps due to a well developed local film industry. The United Kingdom ranks fourth with regards to cinema goers.
