Is Global Warming Really Happening?

Probably, virtually all scientists with the training and intelligence to examine the data agree that average temperatures are rising slowly, year on year, in both summer and winter.

The true question is, what's causing it? The vast majority of trained and credible scientists and all of the influential and respected scientific bodies (professional institutions, government advisory panels, university boards, etc.) agree that the cause is the release of so-called 'green-house' gases from human activity. The main worrisome gas by volume is carbon dioxide (CO2), but Nitrous oxide (N20) and methane (CH4) are other important culprits.

A handful of sceptics still question whether global warming is happening because of human activity; it's suggested that the observed warming may be part of the normal climate fluctuations on earth. As time goes on these skeptics seem to be dwindling in number.
