    The sewing machine was one of the most wonderful innovations of olden times. It has made the art of stitching fast and easy. Moreover with the mechanized sewing machine, high quality garments can be manufactured relatively quickly. This makes well stitched clothes affordable for the common man which was not the case about 200 years ago. Only the wealthy could afford the well stitched clothes as the time required for making these was very long. The mechanized sewing machine has many different parts.

    These parts are enlisted below.
    a. Belts, even old leather treadle belts
    b. Bobbins, bobbin cases, and bobbin winder parts
    c. Foot controls (for controlling speed) and power cords
    d. Motors
    e. Needle and slide plates
    f. Light bulbs
    g. Spool pins
    h. Feed dogs (can be rubber or metal)
    i. Tension parts and assemblies
    j. Knives and loopers for serger overlock
    k. Needles of all styles and sizes
    l. Looper for serger overlock
    m. button hole machines
