Who Is The World's Tallest Man?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Officially, the world's tallest man is Bao Xishun from Mongolia, China. He is a herdsman by profession and is 7 feet, 8.95 inches tall.

In 2007, Bao Xinshun lost his title to Leonid Stadnyk from Ukraine. Leonid Stadnyk is 8 feet 5 inches tall and was officially titled as the tallest man in the world for a short while. However, the title was returned to Bao Xinshun when Leonid refused to be measured by the Guiness World Records under their new guidelines.

So, let's come back to the formal tallest man. Bao Xinshun was born in 1951. He lived with his mother until he was 40. When she died, he came to work as a greeter at a restaurant. From there, the local media contacted the guiness records and Bao Xishun was measured. He took over the title from the previous title holder, Radhouane Charbib, by just 2mm.

In 2007, Bao married Xia Shujian, who was a salesgirl from his hometown (Chifeng). She was 28 years old at that time and is 5 feet 6 inches tall. Bao and Xia just had a baby boy in October, 2008.
