A loud alarm clock is a good way to start! The best way is to start by forcing yourself up early and going for a brisk walk. You may not feel great the first time you do it, but you will soon get used to it, and you will feel ready to go to bed earlier than usual.

Try reading in bed, as this can make you drowsy. Perhaps the job that you are in isn't too strenous, and that's why you don't feel so tired in the evenings.

If you are tired during the week because you go out for a drink in the evenings, then perhaps you could save this until the weekend so that you can go to bed a little earlier.

Try to do more physical activity within the week if you have time. This may make you more tired so that you feel ready to go to bed earlier.

Try taking Tylenol PM...You will get sleepy in no time......Take it around 9:00pm and I promise you by at least 9:30pm you will feel kicking in...And yes, an alarm clock would also be most helpful as well.

Set a timetable for yourself and stick to it. Decide whether whatever you are doing that is keeping you up so late is worth losing your job over because if you keep burning the midnight oil and feeling sluggish at work, your boss is bound to notice and replace you. Try setting the timer on your kitchen stove or buy a digital timer and set it for the number of hours between the time you get home and the time you NEED to go to bed. When the timer goes off, stop whatever you are doing and go to bed. Make an agreement with yourself to abide by the new rules and get some rest. If you need it, ask your doctor for something to help you get goo quality sleep. Sometimes those over the counter medicines leave you groggy and sluggish in the morning. I have tried Ambien CR and it helps me when I occasionally need to turn off and can't.
