What Is The Formula For Perimeter Of A Rectangle?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

    A rectangle is a right parallelepiped that has opposite sides equal in length. We generally call two of the sides the "length" of the figure, and the other two the "width". The sum of the four sides is the perimeter.

    perimeter = length + width + length + width
    perimeter = 2(length + width)

    Using single-letter variables, this becomes
    P = 2(L+W)

      The formula for a perimeter of a rectangle is
      P= 2b+2h
      (Perimeter)=2(base)+2(height)
