Where In Cape Town Can My Fiancé And I Have An Aids Test Done?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

You can visit the ATICC (Aids Training Information and Counselling Centre) at Plumpstead, Cape Town. The decision to go for an AIDS test is voluntary-you are not forced to do so. The three main steps that are followed as a procedure by the Centre are pre-test counselling,  testing and post-test counselling.

At the pre-test counselling, a psychologist will have a private and confidential discussion with your fiancé and you, to ensure that you have enough information about taking an HIV test. The HIV testing is done with the safest methods. You may also inquire for Rapid Test, wherein the test results are provided within 25 minutes. The post-test counselling is also a confidential procedure.

The ATICC offers up to 6 sessions of regular counselling to HIV positive individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS. For more information, call ATICC on 021 763 5320/1/2/3 or fax 797 3356.
