    Jim Morrison of the Doors was arrested and convicted for indecent exposure in Miami in the state of Florida. On September 20, 1970 he was convicted of indecent exposure. On September 23, 1970, both Morrison as well as Darryl Arthur "Babe" Hill was arrested in Clearwater on account of public drunkenness. On the count of indecent exposure, he was sentenced to "confinement at hard labour" for six months in the Dade County Jail.

    However, the judge allowed Morrison to stay free on appeal. The incident in question took place on March 1, 1969 during a concert in Miami inside an old seaplane hangar. Morrison appeared to be intoxicated and in the course of his performance on stage he proceeded to remove his shirt and supposedly kept covering and uncovering his crotch. Later, as a result three misdemeanours as well as one felony charge were levelled against him.
