Answers
Yes, the one-way journey is about 9 hours. Even in a car you'd be looking at a 7 hour drive.
You can get more route info, including timetables and bookings, at Amtrak.com.
I only routed from NY Penn station to Niagara Falls in the US. But many people say that the Falls are best seen from the Canadian side (there's a train station on the Canadian side, too, code=NFS on the Amtrak website).
Oh, and it's spelt "Niagara" -- 3 letter As.
