    Market Weighton is a tiny little town situated in East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is one of the key market towns located in East Yorkshire Wolds and is positioned in between Hull and York, exactly twenty miles away from each other.

    Originally recorded as "Wicstun" in the Doomsday book, it was given the status of a market town in the year 1251. The town comprises of a parish town, other interesting places located here are the Post office, the duck pond and a Station Farm.  

    Market Weighton has a very vivid and vibrant history, mainly revolving around William Bradley and the Yorkshire Giant. Tourists in this region are given a very warm welcome. Earlier the town use to have railway line which plied from Selby to Bridlington and another line which ran from Hull to York. These lines were later closed in the year 1964.
