In a word…lots! But they don't have long careers so you could look at it like a smash n' grab where they get as much as they can before their time runs out!
Since Sky bought rights to televise football games in the premiership wages have increased so much that now average players in the premier league are earning above £10000 a week. Superstars like David Beckham, John Terry and Frank Lampard are earning over £100000 a week.
Of course this doesn't seem fair wen supporters scrabble around and save their pennies to afford tickets to games, which go for about £50 nowadays.
Yet football players will argue they live luxury lives, they are media personalities, they need to spend loads of money to remain visible in order to earn money from sponsorships and other things that come as part of the personality package. Plus they have to deal with media intrusion, fifty thousand fans screaming at them if they do something wrong in their job and they have a talent. If that's worth £100,000 a week, you decide!
