I Need To Rent A House But I'm In Foreclosure.WILL ANYONE RENT TO ME?

Answer Question

It will take time for the foreclosure to appear on your credit report, however the late payments are probably already reflected on your report. Honesty is the best policy, be upfront when applying and be sure to have proof that you can afford the new place...bc they will wonder why you lost your home. Remember there are lots of good people who were hurt by the mortgage industry and many landlords will be understanding. Keep trying until you  find one who does understand and work hard to rebuild your credit. So be honest and you should be ok

As Muriel just mentioned, alot of people will be sympathetic because so many have been affected by foreclosure and you stand a better chance if you are upfront. Try individuals if you are looking to rent a house as realtors will usually have stricter screening criteria. Also be prepared. They may ask for a double security deposit in light of your circumstances.
