The FIFA world cup started in Germany on 9th June 2006. This world cup was played for almost a month right up to 9th July 2006. It comprised of 32 teams and the host country was Germany. They were around 64 matches played and 147 goals scored. The golden boot was bagged by Miroslav Klose who scored 5 goals.
This world cup was won by Italy who completely took over France in the penalty shoot out, with a wining score of 5-3. The match earlier drew at 1-1, wherein the extra time took the lead for Italy. However, France most fabulous player, Zizou performed a surprised stunt, with his head butting incident. However, this could of reason for the failure of France at the FIFA world cup 2006.
