In Plays, Why Do People Forget Their Lines?

    People forget their lines due to nerves called stage fright minutes, hours, even weeks before opening night.  They also experience butterflies in their stomach making them nervous and can get the adrenaline going, too much anxiety over lines might hinder an actor's performance.

      Probably because they are too nervous on stage and do not have enough confidence.
