I Have A Chihuahua/Rat Terrier Mix With A Skin Condition. She Was Put On Prednisone In The Past. Can I Give Her Anything Else That Will Help Her Skin?

My dog's eye lids are swollen & dry. I was told by a vet before that this is common in Chihuahua's. They told me that it is a skin condition, so they put her on prednisone to get rid of it over a year ago. It just came back & I do not have the money right now to bring her to a local vet, Is there anything else I can give her that may help? She will be 2 years old in March. I feel so bad for her & i need to get her help. Thank you.

An eye disease can become chronic if not properly treated in time. No doubt eye infection is common in pets but it should not be ignored. You should give it some homeopathic medicine so that it cannot reappear in your pet. I recommend you "PetAlive Eye-Heal" that is good for different types of eye problems that are caused by bacteria, virus or other foreign bodies irritating the eye. Use a cotton to wipe the eyes gently from inner to outer corners by applying tincture to damp and clean cotton. Apply it thrice a day on daily basis and use new cotton swab for each eye everytime. You will have to be patient because it will take time to recover completely.
