Enzymes need optimum PH value for their proper functioning. A small change in PH causes to break the bonds present in amino acids of enzyme(may be of active site),thus causing denaturing of enzyme and hence catalytic activity of enzyme will stop. Sometimes change in PH value affects the substrate and due this catalytic activity will also stops. So an optimum PH value is required for the functioning of enzyme. For example: An enzyme pepsin requires PH value of 2.00 for it's functioning.
