A Database is basically a structured collection of data which is stored in a computer system. It is organization of data according to database model. A computer database has to rely on softwares for organization of stored data. Database Management system is the name of the software which is used for managing the data on a database.
The are three main types of databases which are as follows;
Flat-file: This database type is used for small amount of data which has to be in human readable form or edited by hand. A delimiter is used for splitting up the flat.file database. It is usually very prone to corruption.
Database Management: This actually works in layers. It allows information to be stored as pair of strings. This pair is called a key and is used to find the associated value.
Relational Database: This kind of database has a more logical structure as far as data storage is concerned. The tables of data are linked together. If a database is designed efficiently, there is no duplication of data in this case.
