I think that falls under (Renters insurance), but not 100% sure on this.

You need to check the contents of your contract hereto be sure but if he is responsible for all repairs then yes you should be compensated for your loss if not you could try claiming on house insurance

If you have made and logged a complaint to the landlord, there is a good chance he would be held responsible through negligence, but normally this comes under normal living wear and tear which the occupier is responsible for.

If you notified landlord prior to water damage, then no, as you had prior knowledge of leak & should have removed valuables from beneath sink. if it just happened all of a sudden, and you have renters' insurance, I would certainly file a claim with the insurance company. if you do not have renters' ins. I would request, via a certified letter, that landlord replace damaged items. good luck♥
