Watton is a town in the county of Norfolk. Norfolk is located in the East Anglia region of England. Watton is a market town in Norfolk. In the year 1202, King John granted the town a Market Charter. It was challenged, however, on the grounds that King John showed his prejudice in favour of Watton and was biased against Saham Toney, an adjoining parish and a Royal Manor. Saham Toney was of greater importance than Watton, and when the market of Watton got the king's nod ahead of the former, it caused bitter resentment among the people of Saham Toney and violence broke out in the year 1375.

Present-day Watton, however, is a bustling town with lots of shops. A market is held every Wednesday in the town. Most of the business is conducted on the main high street of the town. There is a farmer's market on the first Saturday of every month.
