I Got A Check That Exceeds The Amount I Need For Certain Purchase How Do I Know This Is Not Fraud?

It IS fraud.
Was this check sent to you for some online job?
Was it sent for you to go buy supplies for this job and then send a certain portion to some other person?
Was this sent to be a mystery shopper, but you have to send a portion to another individual?
The check is bogus, will bounce, and if you spend any of it, you will be responsible for making your bank account right again. In extreme cases, you may even lose your bank account for committing fraud.
Do NOT cash the check. Shred it.
