A landlord can not put the house up for sale without notifying the current tenants. It is against the law. It must have been mentioned in your lease terms. Even if its not, you should know that its against the law to sell a property without notification to the tenants.

A landlord can put the house up for sale at anytime they please. There is no law against that. What they can't do is let people in to the home for viewing without notifying you. Also the lease you signed has to be followed by the new owner as long as it is in effect.
