Yes you can. Some web hosts provide this feature. You can set up a system where people sign up for an email account on your website, with your site's address as their email address (e.g. name@yoursitename.com).
You can do what other email providers do and offer a free email account for visitors who want to simply check their email, with paid accounts for more features. In other words, you could charge your vistors to set up a more advanced email account which offers more space, anti-virus features, bigger attachments, email support, no adverts and much more. The no advert feature may encourage some visitors to pay for an email account, as many people become annoyed with adverts popping up on the screen.
Set up a price per month (or it could be yearly) for the more advanced accounts and promote the services well, so that vistors will be interested in what you have to offer.

Hmm...how would you set up a self-contained website that could offer automated email and password creation and allow the visitor to change his password.
I know how to do this through the control panel of my hosting account but for anybody to trust it, it would have to be something they could set up themselves and change their password at will without having to email me.
Is there software that handles this?
