Considering I'm not 100% sure due to the type of vehicle that you have; you can always go to an automobile parts store like AutoZone or PepBoys for example and try to purchase a service manual for the vehicle which would illustrate the exact and correct procedure. However, to answer your question now; the fuel pump is more than likely an electric fuel pump that is probably located inside the fuel tank in which case the fuel tank would have to be removed for the fuel pump to be removed from the tank and replaced.
