How Do I Get My Cat And Her Kittens To Settle In Different Location?

My cat gave birth on my bed four weeks ago, it was the only place she would settle to give birth, Now is almost time to ween and start litter training the kittens. I don't want to put litter tray in my room but when I tried to move them to the kitchen, where the mother's tray is, they all (including the mother) became distressed and she moved them back to my room. Would appreciate any advice on this matter.

Do you have a door to your room?  You may have to keep your room off limits and put something in the way if you don't have a door.  The cat feels most safe at keeping her kittens in your room.  I would try keeping your room off limits.  Putting the kittens back and she will have to find another place to keep them that you can both agree on, til she is ready to train them.  Once, they are about 6 weeks old and their eyes are open, they should be able to drink and eat on their own and be away from their mom.  That way if you want to give them or some away you can.  The mother cat may seem distressed for a while, but she will get use to it eventually.  That is life.  Good luck.

Try putting a box in the closet and some bedding in the box for them, they might like that better then right out in the open right off the bat. This will let them get use to new surroundings, and will slowly introduce them to the rest of the house. Hope this helps, good luck to you.

Put a box in your room, add a little of mommys you know what in the box. Every day move the box a few inchs towards where you want it to be. They'll follow. Just did my 6 little ones. If they're not wandering around yet, place a couple of old towels, clean rags in their sleeping place. Next day place the towels down your hallway. They find they're own scent comforting.

Your bed sheets would smell like your cats so try moving that out of your bedroom and using a different one. Soon as your cats r comfy outside make them a new bed. Hope this helps
