My husband and I are short on funds right now, but come November we will have enough for his shots and to get him fixed. Will he be able to get my two female cats (not fixed) cats pregnant before then?

Puberty or fertile age of the cat vary 4 months to one year with an average of 6 months. Shorthair cats become parents earlier than longhair cats. At this time your male cat is one month old and he will be 4 month old in November. If he is shorthair domestic breed then he might be able to pregnant other cats but not necessarily. Neutering a male cat is now common because it has many advantages like you can reduce fighting, urine marking, roaming and muscular body of male cats. The Neutering can be done before the development of secondary sexual characters which usually develop at 6 month age. This is small surgery under general anesthesia done by your vet.

November is the perfect time to have this kitten neutered. Typically male cats are neutered between 4-6 months of age. Shelters will neuter kittens earlier due to their high volume and need to get animals out of the shelter. He should not be able to get your female cats pregnant before the beginning of November. Kittens typically gain 1 pound a month for the first 6 months so this may help you determine the age of this kitten.
Kitten vaccinations should begin at 6-8 weeks of age; they get a booster every 3-4 weeks until they are 16 weeks (4 months). Do not allow an unvaccinated kitten to go outside.
Most communities have low cost or income based vaccine and spay/neuter clinics. Many shelters also offer these services at a low cost too.
