Morose means to be in a very bad and sullen mood. It is to possess a very bad or sour temper and brooding ill humour. When a person behaves in a very unsocial manner and remains glum and moody and dour due to some reason then he is said to be morose. It is described as being irritable, despondent and bitter for a prolonged time. It is an adjective. A more person is always gloomy and melancholic. The expression "the proverbially dour New English Puritan" describes the term morose in a very apt manner.
