How Do I Repair My Washer ?
My washer will not spin on the cycle unless you slam the lid. It will drain the water but not spin. Tried to stick something in to hold the switch in all the way, that will not work either. It is a Roper brand.

Sounds to me that it either needs a new safety switch or one of the leads going to the lid has come loose from the switch itself. You CAN NOT BY LAW JUMP THE TWO WIRES TOGETHER AS IT WILL NOT STOP WHEN THE LID IS LIFTED essentially that is what the switch does.
