There are loads of alternatives to having cereals every morning. In fact, it is often better for you if you have a variety of breakfast food each week.

Pancakes are a good, filling choice; however some people won't eat them because they aren't the healthiest option available! If you are looking for something that little bit healthier, a bagel with cheese spread can be filling and they can actually be quite nice! You can get different flavoured bagels too so if you're in a sweet mood you can have cinnamon and raisin bagels, or if you are in a savoury mood you can have onion or plain bagels.

Failing that there are muffins where you can have fillings such as poached egg and bacon in them. Crumpets are also quite good with butter or even jam on. Smoothies and fruit can also be filling and are a healthier option if you are watching your weight.

Overall there are so many options available to you, all you have to do is experiement and see what you like.

Sapphira777 makes a good point about variety. Ask desertkid also (on this site) about apples as a great alternative to coffee for getting us to be alert in the morning. Also, for women, yogurt with naturally occurring live cultures are great for our overall health. Milk, cheese are wonderful for those wanting to lose wieght. Whole grains are better than refined carbs for vitamin B and calcium absorption, as well as fiber-- so oatmeal is a great alternative.

Yep, the possibilities are endless. Toast is great, I also love fruit and yogurt(mixed), bagels, and lots to drink. Experiment and find what you like best.

Eggs are a quick and easy way to start your day with some protein, which fills up better and longer than the carbs found in cereal.
Unless your cholesterol is dangerously high, you can have a couple of eggs a few times a week.
Try them scrambled (add a little milk as you mix) with cheese (cheddar gives a nice zip). I add a little salsa too for some extra kick.

If you want fast then there's the egg sandwiches you can pop in the microwave, or toater strudles and hot pockets. Cinnamon toast is good or raisin bread toasted.

Try eating different types of fruits in the morning. Also omelets are not that hard to make and are usually done within 3 minutes if you have your misen blas prepared ahead of time.

Breakfast can be fast and delicious. My favorite is a open faced protein sandwich takes about 5 minutes. 1-slice of bread (wheat preferred), 4- thin sliced Turkey meat (deli style), 2-egg whites (or sunny side up if yolk is preferred (yummy)), 1oz of Mozzarella. It's very filling and you don't feel the urge to snack. :-)

Breakfast is a compound word for a old idea. You BREAK your FAST. This means that the last eight hours or so you have not eaten (or longer) and have been fasting. When you eat something you have broken your fast. That being said... Both me and my mother are not big on sweet breakfast. I eat a lot of eggs, bacon, sausage, English muffins (esp. W/natural peanut butter & honey), breads, french bread & nutella, and a lot of fruits. About as much sweet as I can handle. My mother's favorites include things like; day old spaghetti, macaroni and cheese, Ruffles potato chips & apples & cheese... All with a diet coke. It is all still breakfast. However, try this for breakfast if you like sweet/breakfast type food, take left over spaghetti with or without sauce depending on taste, add one or two beaten eggs and cook on med-low until firm, add tomatoes, mushrooms, green onion, cheese, salsa, anything you want, while the egg is still liquid for different flavors and nutritional value. You get some carbs, protein and your veggies. Plus it is easy and quick and there is always left over spaghetti.... By the way it is technically considered a Spaghetti Frittata.
