Yes. We should work in cooperation with Nature, rather than against it (her). Organic farms are generally as productive, or more so, than "conventional" farms, though it may take a few years to reach that level after switching farming styles. No doubt sales of farm chemicals would suffer, and other changes would likely occur in the economy.

The new Administration of food safety program H.R.875 of 4th Feb 2009 will ban Organic Farming of any kind in U.S.A. From Farms right down to your back garden. To protect the citizens from food borne illnesses. The forced use of pesticides and chemicals by farmers. With fines up to $500,000 for failing to comply. It also bans the import of organic foods.

So it won't matter who wants to grow organic. It will be banned.
