              Going Home is the first novel by Danielle Steel. She is a very popular American author and this book was published shortly before her divorce to her first husband Claude-Eric Lazard. It was published in 1973. This books deals with the story of Gillian, a woman after facing betrayal moves to California from New York in search of a new career. There she meets a man whom she has a passionate affair and becomes pregnant.

              But Gillian's hopes of happiness go awry when the man doesn't want her to have the baby. So she moves back to New York to have the baby. But the man repents and come in search of Gillian and the baby. Yet again happiness eludes Gillian in the form of death. Both the man and the baby die in a tragedy and she is left heart broken. Then she again goes back to New York where she meets the other man who had betrayed her. They solve their differences and come together again and settled down in Europe.
