Buoyancy generally refers to upward force that is applied to an object arising from the dislocation of the liquid. This force is applied with some kind of liquid or gas. This in turn lets the object to float or may even make it lighter in weight. It is very important for vehicles like boats, ships, balloons, and airships.

The force that is applied on the object is equal to the weight of the fluid. The two main principles that buoyancy depends on are the object's volume, and the density of the neighbouring fluid. The buoyancy is elevated, when the objects volume and the nearby density is higher.

Buoyancy devices are generally composite structures that comprise of both solid and soft parts of the animal
