The depression was a hard time for everybody but all the more so for the Mexican-Americans. More than two million Mexican-Americans were deported during these times. This happened because at that time these Latino families were accused of taking away all the job opportunities and government benefits from the so called "real" Americans. Thus all these Mexican-Americans were repatriated or relocated even though more than half of these citizens were legal United States citizens.
This campaign or acts were supported by Herbert Hoover who was the President of United States at this time. It was a traumatic incident for all the people who were deported because Mexico was also suffering from depression and there were no jobs for these returning Mexicans. They had to face a lot of hardships and had to start their lives all over again.
