Sadly, probably yes. Because you are the tenant, and will no doubt have had an agreement with the landlord to keep the property in good condition, you are responsible for making good the property again, no matter who has done the damage.
Of course, if you'd already left the property when this happened, ie your tenancy had ended, then you are not responsible - just because they were related to you, it's not your fault they suck! (unless of course you *asked* them to do it! *laughs* not suggesting you would, just trying to cover all the bases here).
Finally, if you had insurance on the property, it's possible that you may be able to claim for any damage that was caused.
