Smoking is very harmful for health and has many threats for health. Every year smoking kills almost 430,000 people. Actually, cigarettes have a high nicotine content in them which makes them highly addictive and it becomes extremely difficult to give up. It is the contributor to the cancer in lungs, mouth and throat. The smoke deposit in the lungs and damages the structures where oxygen is absorbed by blood which means that lesser oxygen is absorbed by your body. To make up for this low blood oxygen level, the heart pumps faster, stressing out the heart and increasing the blood pressure. It causes the blood to become thick as a result of which fats easily get deposited in the arteries and also cause hardening of the arteries and can lead to heart diseases. The smoke inhaled also contains other harmful substances like tar; carbon monoxide etc. It adversely affects the reproductive system and promotes osteoporosis.
