They haven't set a release date. I think they will wait until after the third book has been released.

The third book has been out for quite some time. Any cance we will see the movie? If not for theatre viewing maybe straight to viedo? I have several grandchildren waiting. I bought the books and they have all read them, saw the first movie. Loved it and keep asking about the next one .....any ideas?
I think that they will not make a movie out of eldest. They will orbably ruin it just like they did with Eragon anyway. The Eragon movie was a complete disaster. I hated it because they cahnged so much about it. Like, in the movie, Saphira would have looked ok if they didn't give her feathers on her wongs.

Everything i have read online is pure speculation. Nothing official. Eldest should be made into a movie, but they need a director with a wider vision than the first one. The movie needs to be well over 2 hours long and needs much more magic and something needs done about the dwarves and elves. The woman who played arya just did the movie INKHEART with Brendon Frasier. It was pretty good. Anyway, anyone with real info on the movie please post it online!
