    The county Limerick is in the province of Munster, located Midwest of the Republic of Ireland. The city lies on the banks of River Shannon, with three prime crossing points close to the city. It is located to the west of Dublin. It lies 105 km from Cork in the southern part and Galway to the north.

    The population of Limerick is 93,321 which includes the immediate suburbs and ranked it as the Republic of Ireland's third biggest city.

    The prime area of the city is divided between the traditional areas of "English Town" on the south of King's Island, "Irish Town" and "Newton Perry".
    Georgian architecture of the 1800's is very much predominant in the city even though many have been demolished. The King John's Castle, St Mary's Cathedral in English Town and St John's Cathedral and still glorifies the city.
    Traveling by the local public transport is made easier by Bus Éireann, Ireland's national bus operator.
