What Are Tricast Bets?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

There are two types of tricast bet; the straight tricast and the combination tricast. The straight tricast is similar to the forecast bet, but it requires three selections from the same event. The three selections must come first, second and third and in the order that they are written down on the betting slip. Tricasts have specific races that they are permitted to be placed as a bet. In greyhound racing, the event will be specified on the race details. With horse racing, the race needs to be a handicap event with eight or more horses running.

The combination tricast requires a number of selections from any tricast race; these are the same as specified above. These must come first second and third, in any order. A combination tricast is essentially a series of tricast bets and so the number of selections chosen affects the amounts of bet that need to be staked.
