Guys like to talk about anything except girly things(like hair,nails & makeup) They like to talk about themselves, sports, cars, sex.. Almost anything as long as you can hold a conversation with them and it's not about girly things or your exes.

Well if it is like a boyfriend girlfriend thing it is usually about sex or sometimes how they've been doing but if it's just a friendly thing then just start talking about the things that you find most interesting and if he doesn't approve then just change guys
