Your cat likely has asthma. I have a Egyptian Mao who has had asthma since he was 1 year old. He almost died from one attack. Your vet can prescribe medications to help him breathe easier (like Brethine) or prevent the attacks (like prednisolone). Cats can even use inhalers (with a special attachment). My Mao boy has been on medications for 9 years and he's going strong. There are many triggers for asthma so you might also try to find out what your cat may be allergic to. Good luck!

My cat just went to the vet because he was throwing up and gaging, look at its gums, are they red maybe? My cat has 3 infections and is on pills ATM, might be a good thing to take him to the vet especially if loosing weight.
