How Big Of A Tankless Gas Heater Do I Need For A Family Of 4 And 3 Showers And A Spa Bath Tub With A Temperature Rise Of 30 F?

I have a 50 gal water heater for supply to the tankless heater so I can regulate the inlet temperature. Also what would be the most efficient inlet temperature from the tank hot water heater. I had 2 hot water heaters hooked together and 1 started leaking so I thought now would be the time to consider a tankless. Thankyou.

At this date I hope this still helps. I would install a mixing valve off the tank water heater and set it for 90 degrees provided that it is an acceptable temperature for the tankless. An average tankless may give you about 8.5gpm for an hour or more with the temp. Assist. Depending on where you live considering the temp. Of the water coming in to the house an 80 degree temp. Rise with just a tankless will only net about 4 gpm. If you have a 30 degree rise you may get as much as 8.5gpm.
