I Have A 9 Week Old Male Shar Pei/Boxer Mix Puppy. When He Poops It's Been Looking Somewhat Mucous. Has Been Eating And Playing. He Had His 1st Set Of Shots This Past Week. What Could This Be?

Could he have worms? We haven't let him outside not once until he's had all his shots.

Your pup could just be a little upset with moving house and having jabs. Ask your vet about routine worming. Don't know much about the boxer side, but I have a 12mth old Shar-pei. They can suffer from delicate stomachs and are prown to food allergies.

My breader advised me to feed mine on James Wellbeloved which is a dried complete food. You can find it in Pets at Home and other good pet shops. Mix in to it some chicken breast or fish. You also need to keep an eye on food protein levels with this breed. 23% is about the max, or your pup will grow too quickly and suffer with joints.

Introduce other foods one at a time over a period and your problem food should stand out.
Don't give the puppy milk. Mine used to have live yogurt as the bacteria helps its stomach.
You may wish to search Shar Pei ailments on the net. It all looks a bit daunting, but once you know what you're dealing with if it happens you won't panic. eg swollen hock/shar-pei feaver, entropia.

All Shar-pei owners should research fully before buying into this breed as vet bills can be quite expensive. If your puppy isn't insured, I advise you do so.

After all this, I can safely tell you that Shar-pei are the most wonderful, loving, gentle and loyal dogs I have ever had the pleasure in knowing and would buy another tomorrow. Most shar-pei owners I know wouldn't go back to any other breed and you usually find that you end up with at least 2! That mixed with a boxer, you can't go far wrong.

Just one more thing. They can be extremely stubborn, especially when they get to around 6-7 months. Training is a must, and should be consistent. Shar-pei don't like to be shouted at and train best with praise and reward.

    Hope this helps

He very well could have parasites (worms). Puppies can get them from their mother if she had an infestation when pregnant or lactating. You should have the pup checked for worms and other parasites.
