A nurse is basically a health care professional who is responsible for the treatment, safety and recovery of ill or injured people or those people who need health maintenance and also treat people in emergency situations.

A nurse is the most important part of a hospital. Without the help of the nursing staff, a hospital can not run smoothly. Nurses are responsible for the coordination of patients and activities. They help the doctors in achieving their goals. They are not only present during medical examination of a patient to assist the doctor but are also present during surgeries.

Some nurses have the duty to administer drugs and injections to the patients according to the prescription of the doctor. Some are in the administration where they look after other affairs of the hospital. They also provide moral support to the patients and their relatives. All in all they have an important role to play in all the proceedings of the hospital
