Which Is The World's Oldest Book?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The first known dated printed book is believed to be "Diamond Sutra" in China circa 868 AD. The name of the first mechanically printed book may never be known but the earliest known printing "press" was made of clay and was from 1041 in China. The modern printing press began with Johannes Gutenberg in Germany in 1436. He finished it in 1440 and the letters were made of wood and metal. His first book "hot off the press" was the Gutenberg Bible, published in 1452. As for the first "printed" unbound book, we can only speculate based on host of suggestions. That's what i could come up with. Hope it helps.
